DURANGO DOG RANCH is owned and operated by Gregg & Gretchen Dubit. In 1988 these two outdoor enthusiasts met as employees of Sugarbush Ski Resort in Vermont. They moved west to attend Fort Lewis College and both became teachers. The outdoors called again and Gregg's fascination with sled dogs led to adventures by dogsled. It all started twenty-eight years ago when Gretchen said "I Do" and Gregg thought she said, "I do want two kids (Lydia, 19, and Hayden 17), thirty dogs, three cats, and three fish to grow old with". This family business is in its twenty-eighth year.

Service Description
9:30 Start Time! THIS IS EARLY SEASON AND WE GO IN ALL CONDITIONS!Great for the whole family. Tours last approximately two hours, depending on snow conditions. Each sled accommodates TWO people for a combined weight of 375 pounds. If you have a lap child they will fit comfortably in YOUR lap there is a fee of $75. Lap children sit in car seats and do not tie their own shoes. We reserve the right to ask an adult to sit behind even if under the weight limit if your child is NOT lap sized. Overloading the sled is hard on the equipment and the dogs! You will get a mushing lesson before getting on the sled, and you will finish with a hot chocolate after mingling with your dogs and giving them treats. This is a very hands on experience so get ready to go to the dogs!Advanced reservations are required. Trips are *non-refundable and go in all conditions.
