A New Season Is Upon Us

And with every new season comes new dogs; this season we have new puppies, some born at the kennel and some adopted from other kennels to begin their job here at Durango Dog Ranch. Flashflood and Hailstorm were Martha's only two pups this summer and they are named appropriately after natural disasters. Jeepster and McFuzz were adopted from a nearby kennel and are very happy to be romping and playing with the others. Jeepster has been lucky enough to be taken in by Lydia, our fourteen year old daughter, who has broken the "no dogs in the bed" rule and he can be seen gazing lovingly from her bed while she does her homework. Announcing:Fall DrylandTraining/Kennel Visits!!

Starting October 14th we will have room for four lucky people to join us on Saturday  and Wednesday for Dry land training/Kennel tours at the base of the San Juan Mountains at our kennel located 20 minutes west of Durango proper. Tours will be offered until the snow is too deep and then we head to Purgatory for our over the snow One Hour Tours and to The West Mancos Trailhead for Half Day Tours. Tours begin at 8:00am and last approximately 1.5 hours. You will tour the kennel,  harness the dogs, and take a dryland training run with a team of energetic huskies.  You will leave with a Durango Dog Ranch mug,  dog hair, and mud on you clothes AT NO EXTRA CHARGE!!! 

Meet  8:00am at the Durango Dog Ranch. Reservations only.  Dress for DIRT and Seasonal weather (layers).
